IES Presents: Gridiron Season (Updated Preseason Guest List).

Posted on

By: James Johnson

We are proud to announce that Gridiron season will now include the preseason. As we’ve now gotten a confirmation for our five guests (all of which are bloggers/reporters/podcasters who cover the Jags’ preseason opponents) to bring you some preseason coverage. Those of you who are also fans of the Dolphins, Jets, Eagles, and Falcons are all welcomed to tune in as well as our guests will have you covered in terms of content. As we all know, the preseason isn’t about the match-ups, but more about the players battling for a roster spot trying to prove themselves. That said, our preseason podcasts won’t be about the actual match-ups for the Jags’ versus their opponents, but more about the players who are trying to make a name for themselves on each respective team. We’ll also talk with our guests about their teams training camp insight, record predictions, and other team news just to name a few topics. So, as promised, here’s our updated guest list. Feel free to check out their web pages and social networks linked in their official sites. And as for our guests, thank you all and we can’t wait to hear from you!

IES Top 100 NFL Players of 2012-13. (39-30)

Posted on Updated on

By: James Johnson

As we all know, today’s NFL has evolved into a very pass-happy league. That said, to be among the best you need a solid aerial attack and a solid pass-rush to counter those with solid aerial attacks. I find it no coincidence that the remainder of the countdown is loaded with quarterbacks, pass catchers (WR’s/TE’s), and pass rushers (DE’s/OLB’s). Why? Because as I said, this league is one built around the pass, so it only makes sense that the best players in the NFL are those who affect the pass frequently. That couldn’t be more evident in this edition of IES Top 100 as we have a trio of tight ends making the countdown alongside a pair of WR’s, and edge rushers just to name a few. Find out just who they are in this week edition of IES Top 100 NFL Players of 2012-13.

Start counting down. This week is the week most football fans have been waiting for. The week the players report and start practicing for the real games. There are so many different questions for all 32 teams around the league. But for the Jacksonville Jaguars, there are many more questions to be answered. The main question on people’s mind: Is this a team that can surprise everyone out of the gate and make a push within the division, or will this team meet “expectations” as the Number 1 overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft? Despite this team’s seemingly bright future, we are in the reality of now. A scary place to be if you’re a team coming of a 2-14 season with major changes being installed on both sides of the ball from your first year Head Coach and GM. But that is what this week is for, to see something……anything. With practices open to the public leading to the August 3rd scrimmage, we will be able to figure out some indication of where this team is heading. In the meantime, let’s go over some questions and predictions for this year’s training camp and the upcoming 2013 NFL season.

We’re back with yet another edition of IES Top 100! From here on out things should get a little more interesting (not that they weren’t before ) as we are now heading into who I believe are the top 50 players in the league. This week on the countdown we have a trio of San Francisco 49ers and a trio of Chicago Bears featured. You might also take to note of the defensive line dominating the countdown this week taking 4 of the 10 spots. So just who are they? Well, I won’t keep you waiting–here are the latest entrants in our top 100 countdown. Read the rest of this entry »

IES Presents: Gridiron Season.

For those of you who follow our Facebook group page and Twitter, you all know that I’ve been working hard on the side with our podcast. It’s been a while since our last one due to our schedules outside of the site, but when we were on IES Radio the stats were great, and we’d like to thank you all for that.

Being that IES was so well received (according to our stats archive at least), I began thinking of ways we could make IES Radio better. I then came up with the idea to do a weekly football show with a guest each week. As you all know it will mostly be about the Jags and their upcoming season, but we’ll also sprinkle in some college football and talk other sports as well. Throughout the weekly process I’ll have on a guest (ranging from  bloggers, writers, site managers, podcasters, radio personalities, etc) who covers each of the Jags’ regular season opponents. I really worked hard to reach out to our guests and believe that you all will enjoy what we have to offer this football season. I always thought it woud be interesting to have everyday people like myself and our listeners give their take and share their knowledge of their favorite team with us. I don’t know how we’ll work out the specific dates and times with our scheduling, but I will certainly do my best to keep this up for the season. As you all know, I’ll have fellow IES managers Eric and Gage join me as co-hosts when they can, and I’ll be possibly reaching out to a few others to co-host as well. With all that said I present to you the IES guest list for Gridiron Season!

I know right now it doesn’t feel like it, but Week 1 of the NFL season is right around the corner. And even with that said, the Jacksonville Jaguars are no closer to having a starter set for the preseason, let alone the regular season. Going into training camp, this is where everything starts to get serious. Slowly but surely, we will see which quarterback will be able to separate themselves as the clear cut starter of the new look Jaguars. I have hope that this year’s group of quarterbacks will have more to offer then in years past, and we are here to take a look at who is going to make the cut.
